I would like to thank my friend and client for his patience while working on a piece here and there over the 3 years it took to complete this.  Finding a competent gunsmith knowledgeable and trustworthy in Pythons was not possible so the entire process with the exception of blueing, was done in-house.   24k filigree inlays, fine platinum rampant Colt logo, relief scrollwork with finely beaded background, high polish finish and a super white section of antique ivory for the custom made, bookended grip panels.   The greatest challenge with this project was in achieving the mirror finish without compromising the gold inlays.  Soft 24k gold will polish (and scallop out) at a faster rate than steel resulting in gold inlays that are visibly lower than the surrounding steel.  (right click and view image for the hi-res photo to see the results)   Special thanks to Dan C for the perfect grip panels and Turnbull Restorations for the blueing.
